Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description
Job Description & Responsibilities: Arya Home Healthcare is seeking compassionate and reliable home attendants (Caregivers) to provide personal care and assistance to seniors and people with disabilities in their homes. This job is available year-round. This position is available part-time or full-time depending on your availability and the client’s needs. Previous experience as a Home Attendant is preferred, but not required. Candidates are required to have a valid driver’s license, proof of citizenship or employment authorization, and submit to a background check per Virginia code 63.2-1720. Time commitment: Varies depending on the client’s needs, typically 8-12 hours per day Location: This is an IN-PERSON job, you will be assigned to clients within your area (Fairfax, Herndon, Leesburg, and Great Falls, Virginia highly preferred). Payment: This is a PAID job, you will receive a competitive hourly wage and overtime, and work-performance bonuses. A "Personal Care Aide Training Curriculum," 2003 edition, of the Department of Medical Assistance Services training by Arya Home Healthcare will be provided, if you do not have a proper PCA/HHA licensure. Requirements: Valid driver’s license and ability to commute to and from client’s home and pass a background check (provided and paid for by Arya Home Healthcare) and obtain a proper PCA/HHA Aide licensure (you can obtain one from our agency or from another agency). Key Competencies/Success Factors Ambulation: physically assisting a client who otherwise would be unable to move about independently. Eating: includes hand feeding a client who is incapable of self-feeding. Personal hygiene: which includes bathing the client. Dressing: physically applying a client’s clothing to the client’s body. Toileting: assisting a client to go to and from toileting facilities and in the activities of toileting.
