Employment type: part-time with benefits including paid holidays, vacation and sick time, and employer matching retirement plan Non-profit organization: Friendship Center Adult Day Services Learn more about us at www.friendshipcentersb.org We are searching for a compassionate part-time Program Specialist to work with our participants in an adult day care setting which serves aging and dependent adults including people with dementia, Alzheimer’s and people with physical/intellectual disabilities. Our ideal Program Specialist will enjoy working with older adults, have a positive attitude, have effective communication skills, be a good listener, and have the ability to take initiative. Program Specialists should be able to work well as a member of a team as well as work independently. We are looking for candidates that are willing to pitch in and help all members of our team succeed. The Program Specialist: -Assists in developing, planning and leading program activities for individuals as well as groups -Performs a variety of functions related to the overall operation of our center including, but not limited to; assisting with food service, classroom activities, excursions, participant personal care, special events, following CCL guidelines, basic maintenance, and cleaning following COVID-19 protocol. Requirements include First Aid and CPR, a physical exam. a TB clearance, a clean driving record with a valid driver's license and insurance, and a criminal record clearance. Experience working with elders or people with disabilities is preferred. Experience in teaching or instruction is preferred. Please email detailed resume with cover letter. Job Type: Part-time Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Schedule: Position will be part time, with the potential for additional hours in the future. Hours vary between 8 am – 5pm Monday through Friday.
