Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description
Quality Life Services is seeking a Personal Care Aide who is ready for a challenge and wants to make a difference in the lives of older adults. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, enjoys working with people and understands the importance of providing compassionate care. This position is vital for providing simple care and creating a home like environment for the residents of the personal care home. This position is held by an essential employee and is vital to maintaining the quality of care given to our residents and patients during the coronavirus / COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. Position Responsibilities (included, but not limited to) Responsible for checking communication book Assist residents with ADL’s as needed Pass medications Order medications Shower or bath residents as scheduled or needed Make resident beds Clean nurse’s stations, clothes, drawers, etc. Change any incontinent residents at least q2 and prn Charting as needed Provide resident activities as scheduled Request any supplies needed from the Business Office Request any repairs needed (Repair Requisition) Communicate any concerns with the next shift or PC Administrator Take part in in-service training as scheduled Participate in fire drills Keep all orientation boards and calendars up-to-date Identify all safety hazards and emergency situations and initiate corrective action Observe all Company policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations. Performs other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
