Job Description - Registered Nurse (RN) Position Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and coordinating patient care, educating patients and the public about various health conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and their family members. Duties and Responsibilities: Monitoring Patient Health: Track the health of patients by checking vital signs and administering medication as needed. Creating Patient Care Plans: Develop patient care plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Executing Medical Procedures: Perform diagnostic tests and medical procedures in accordance with hospital protocols. Documentation: Accurately document all care information including observations, treatments, and patient responses. Patient Education: Educate patients and families on disease prevention and health maintenance. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations that require quick decision making and action. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Must possess a valid RN license. CPR certification required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Work Environment: The work environment for an RN typically includes hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities. RNs may be required to work in a variety of conditions, sometimes working nights, weekends, and holidays, and being on call. Physical Requirements: Physical stamina is essential for an RN, as the job often requires standing for long periods, lifting heavy patients, and dealing with stressful emergency situations.
