RN | Requirements: Prior experience in geriatric preferred Prior medical and surgical nursing experience preferred Graduate of an approved school of nursing Current registration in New York State is required RNs must be BLS or CPR certified. RN | Role & Responsibilities: Receives report from nurse going off duty. Evaluates and assigns resident care on the basis of resident need. Administers prescribed medications and treatments. Reorders medications and treatment supplies as needed for the assigned team. Admits and orients new residents to the unit by completing initial assessment. Completes required documentation ie: initial assessment, medical records, inventories-controlled drugs, tube feeding flow sheet, glucometer records etc Answers resident call lights to determine resident needs and performs the service or directs them to a paraprofessional for performance of service.
