Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description

Description: A registered nurse, or RN, will monitor all clients and administer medications, keeps records, consults with healthcare providers, educate patients and be an active participant in the treatment of the patient. Responsible for assisting in supporting MADC clients as it relates to their medical, safety and overall well-being and the need for treatment. Provides additional support for patients with vitals, and blood sugar testing. This position must have a positive and supportive attitude toward MADC and its overall success. Must have the ability to solve problems and have good decision-making skills, including critical thinking. Typical Physical Requirements: Requires the ability to sit, walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach while performing duties: lift and/or move light weights; Must be able to maintain effective audio, visual perception needed for making observations, communicating with others, reading, and writing, and operating office equipment. Must be able to use a telephone and a keyboard to communicate through written/verbal means, to review information and enter/retrieve data. Requires the strength and stamina to perform clinical duties. Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate with DON Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and function calmly in situations, which require a high degree of sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy. Perform routine procedures (vital signs, accu-checks, assess pain, administering injections etc.) and document in patients’ charts Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, PPE etc.) Supervise and/or train LPNs, PCTs or CNAs Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational workshops, conferences etc. Arabic, Punjabi, Hindi speaking A PLUS!!!
