Primary Responsibilities include: Provide high-quality nursing care to residents in accordance with care plans and facility policies. Assess, evaluate, and treat minor illnesses and manage chronic health problems. Assign resident care to nursing staff, CMAs, and CNAs, and supervise completion of such assignments. Provide educational training for nursing staff. Assist the Director of Nursing with staff scheduling and the development of resident care plans. Administer medications, order supplies as needed, and ensure proper documentation. Monitor medication passes, meal assignments, and overall resident care. Prepare and maintain progress notes and resident charts. Maintain a conducive physical, social, and psychosocial environment for residents. Recognize and respond to resident symptoms and conditions, and take appropriate action. Communicate professionally with residents, families, and staff, ensuring privacy and confidentiality. Demonstrate reliability in attendance and fulfill on-call responsibilities. Take ownership of tasks and support team members as needed, maintaining a proactive approach. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Oklahoma. 2-5 years previous nursing experience. 2 years previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting is highly preferred Current CPR and First Aid certifications. Professional and courteous attitude with a commitment to the professional code of ethics. Excellent physical and mental health to meet the demands of the position. Strong attention to detail and the ability to recognize and interpret symptoms and changes in resident conditions. Dependable, reliable, and versatile with strong observational skills. Physical and Mental Requirements: Ability to stand, walk and move for prolonged periods. Manual dexterity required for operating medical equipment and administering medications. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to monitor resident care and respond to emergencies. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. High level of emotional intelligence to handle stressful situations and provide compassionate care. Excellent problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues promptly. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with residents, families, and staff.
