My mother was sent to Priutt in Austell from Kennestone Wellstar on 11-7-25, and it wasn’t long after that she became dehydrated and this injured her kidneys. I requested she be sent to Cobb Hospital and they refused to send her until 11-20-25, and she died the next day. Priutt is partially responsible for my mother’s death. They did not keep her dry, the did not provide water for her (when they did, it was sink water), and when I asked for help or assistance some of the employees were great, while others were bothered and visibly aggravated. The call button was a joke as it was not answered! The CNAs (in the light blue uniforms), hate their jobs and told my mom to just ‘go to sleep’. I’m thinking they didn’t give her water so they wouldn’t have to change her. Her hearing aid was rechargeable, but due to no bedside table she couldn’t reach it in the mornings and therefore was deaf until us kids came to see her to give it to her. When I told them she was dehydrated she got an IV once, but it wasn’t put in correctly and ended up soaking her bed and they didn’t run it again. She was supposed to go in for PT to get strong for heart surgery, but never got PT. The bedsore she got at Kennestone wasn’t treated, she wasn’t turned, and if we (her children) hadn’t been there she would have been totally neglected. This is a bad place regardless of the banner out front stating Newsweek voted them the #1 nursing home in the country in 2025. It’s a joke. A sad, cruel joke.

My experience at PruittHealth was very pleasant. After hip replacement surgery, I entered the rehab center May 9th and I left June 9th. My nurses, CTNs, housekeeper and the activity director were very helpful and always greeted me with a smile during my entire stay. There are many who were so helpful but I only remember the following names: Stella, Skeatha, Juvey, Gladys, Winsome, Fabian, Rita and Shalonda. My outstanding therapists were Sledge, Felicia, Lisa and Marian.

PruittHealth Austell is a wonderful facility where residents are truly well taken care of. It provides a warm and caring environment, making it a great place to bring your loved ones. The staff is attentive, compassionate, and dedicated to ensuring residents feel comfortable and valued. A special mention goes to Ms. Shay, the Admissions Director. She is an amazing woman, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to her role. She goes above and beyond to meet the needs of families, guiding them through the process with care and understanding. With her support, you can be confident in receiving an exceptional experience. I highly recommend PruittHealth Austell to anyone seeking quality care for their family members.

This is the epitome of low. They left my dad 84 yr old veteran In The hallway with a gown and no blanket for hours. He was transferred at 2:00 am from Tanner and was to be rehabilitated to walk after amputation of two toes. He called us told us what was happening we came up there took him home !!! Shame on them and shame our health system! I’ve never seen such in all my life. The food was like jail food and the smell was like none I’ve ever encountered! No call buttons , no IVs , no meds , wheelchair nor walker was accessible to him to even get to the bathroom! He was wearing a soiled depends for hours ! This place should be shutdown! People were just crammed in rooms on top of each other with NO privacy at all. We are humans we deserve dignity! There was none in this house of horrors !

My mom was there three days shy of a month. She developed a bed sore that I was not made aware of. It took an act of congress to have her transported to the hospital at my request. She had a UTI and was dehydrated. There is no telling what would have happened if I did not insist she go. They really need to do better!
