When my grandmother was admitted to Grand Oaks for end-of-life care, the compassion and support we experienced were truly remarkable. The staff went above and beyond to meet her every need and honor her wishes, always with kindness and patience. Their dedication to advocating for residents and making sure they feel safe and cared for is evident in every interaction. The relationships the team builds with residents and families show just how much they genuinely care. Whether someone is here for long-term care or a short stay, the staff work tirelessly to make sure each resident’s needs and goals are met. I am so proud to be part of the Grand Oaks family, where love, dedication, and compassion are at the heart of everything we do. It’s the people—the staff—who make Grand Oaks such a warm, caring, and special place. I would happily bring other family members in need of nursing care to Grand Oaks, knowing they would receive the same exceptional care and support.
Would put 0 stars if I could. My experience with Grand Oaks has been nothing short of awful. The way this facility treats its employees is completely unacceptable. Staff are routinely pushed into multiple, inhumane 16-hour shifts a week, and if you refuse, you're written up. They act as if they own you. They do absolutely nothing for staff retention and the turn over rate is awful (this has a HUGE effect on the residents overall psych and experience) I could write a book about the administrator. She behaves as if she's above everyone else, employees and residents included, speaking to people in a rude and unprofessional manner that I have never seen before in my CNA career. She is genuinely the most evil person I have ever met in my life. If it's not about her or benefits her she does not care. Employees or residents cannot even write grievances about the administrator or the facility to corporate because they land on her desk, which she laughs at and nothing is done about the issues. (the DON openly admitted this. Every complaint WILL end up on her desk and nothing will be done). The administrator will actually go out of her way to make people's lives hell. She has ran staff out of the facility with 10+ years in the building and has even gone as far as to call other work places they have applied to, to make things up and slander their name so they do not get the job. As far as I know, this is illegal. Truthfully pitiful. She screams at management and staff for minor issues that can very well be discussed in a calmly manner (most the times they aren't even in the wrong, she just picks people to bully). The DON acts friendly to your face but makes decisions that benefit her friends - mainly the administrator and a select few employees - rather than what's actually best for the staff or the residents. She also claims she agrees with complaints regarding the administration and some staff members but does nothing to change things. Both DON and administrator are on an insanely high power trip. It is completely unacceptable and embarrassing on the facility and themselves. This facility is run completely backwards. I've never worked in a building that felt this mismanaged or chaotic. Honestly, I don't understand how this place is still operating. I would never recommend anyone work here or entrust their family to this facility. And the "good" reviews are mainly from employees that are bribed to write 5 star reviews for a possible chance to win a tv...nothing about that reflects the real environment inside this building. Grand Oaks needs serious changes - or to be shut down entirely. I guarantee many, many people agree. ps: They already deleted this once if that says anything Kiarie Williams
Management and Rehab are fantastic, top notch nurses. Staff are lazy, do crap care on cognitive residents. Makes me wonder if any residents who cannot advocate for themselves ever get washed, or their teeth brushed. Basic care is a big issue. Concerned resident I must rescind my first post about Grand Oaks. I was angry with the world at the time. Anyway after being part of the Grand Oaks family it is a wonderful place to be placed. All staff have been wonderful, the nurses aides are very good at their jobs. Rehab is fanamonal, in a short period of time I will be able to return home. I feel safe in this facility, it is a place I would recommend to anyone.
The staff is compassionate, attentive, and truly dedicated to the well-being of every resident. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and feels like a warm, welcoming community. Residents here are left in such caring hands!
I feel like most of the time, when we get a good group, things go well. Like any job, you have good and bad days. I love the residents. There is always a couple i fall for. I think it is a safe place and clean place to work.
