After my husband was admitted for a week I posted a scathing review due to a travel nurse who was abusive and not being able to reach the administrator. After contacting the management company I was informed the administrator was at a conference which they were able to reach him and he contacted me immediately. The travel nurse was escorted out of the building. The care my loved one has received since has been top notch most days. Wound care was amazing. They saved his leg from amputation. Kim ( charge nurse) does not play when it comes to patient care. Of course, like any other facility, care depends on who is working that shift but he has had fewer issues here than any of the six facilities we've tried including a very expensive facility in Jacksonville. Thank you staff and administration for your care of my family member this last year.To Ross, keep up the good work . Your staff is amazing.

I Visited and toured there today! Lovely place! Management and staff are delightful, kind and caring. Fresh! Does not have that “nursing home” smell at all. It speaks volumes to me that I know a lady who was there for a time of rehab and was able to return to her home. As her health declines she is interested in moving to Sears as a next step in her life. I now see Sears as a place for people with needs to go to live……not a place to go and die.

Some of the reviews here are subjective and totally not representative of the experience I’ve received thus far. My aunt passed away in this facility on 2/5/2024 "a month ago" and to date I still have not received the death certificate, signed by the physician, after numerous phone calls I have yet to get someone on the phone who knows how to handle this situation. I’ve called corporate and the facility many times to no avail. My aunt's care from the care team was lackluster; their bedside manner was horrible, they were not appropriately staffed, and the physician only came once a month. My aunt suffered from neglect during her time here, and it’s amazing to me how quick they were to ask me to have the body removed but can't seem to get the death certificate signed quickly. If you have loved ones in this facility - BEWARE!!! Visit regularly and hold the owners, staff, and medical care team accountable!

Will not answer the phone when you call to check on your loved one. I've been trying to get the DON or Administrator to call me back for over a week about concerns with 0 response. A nurse called me at 4:18 AM to see when I thought I could come get my ex husband out of there so I know they have working phones. He sat in feces for over an hour one night until I went up there to change him. Staff has the nastiest attitude ever.

I have a friend who is spending his last days at Sears Manor. My husband and I visit daily and though as someone pointed out, it is not in a great neighborhood, nor decorated in the grand style, we have found everyone working there to be warm, kind and sympathetic. I have visited other similar institutions where someone had the great idea to put a bird feeder outside every room's window, they fill them once, they then remain empty. At Sears, someone actually takes the trouble to keep those feeders full. It is just a small thing but emblematic of the care with which their they run this nursing home / hospice.
