Terrible! They lie to you. Food is low quality. The wait for help is long. Some people have told me that the place has gone down hill in the last five years. The aides that are here are extremely nice but the work load is a lot for them. This could be a nice place with the right management and more staff.
Do not put your loved one at this facility. I am so disappointed in this place. I will admit there are some good and caring nurses and caregivers but the majority are horrible. Always an issue with the kitchen. Staffing issues all the time. My dad has to sit in pee sometimes for hours. I have expressed my frustration numerous times and each time it’s dismissed.
As a resident, there is so many things I can say about this place. Bit i won't. For now. But I give the physical rehabilitation and speech thereby staff the highest rating ever. They are dedicated, patient, and understand.
I was a resident in the Chardon Healthcare Center for 17days in April, 2024. The nurses and staff were all very friendly and cheerful which helps a patient feel better. One staff member particularly stood out from the crowd and was exceptionally kind and very Caring , namely, Ms. Angel Watson. The floors were dry or wet moped regularly and the facility was kept clean and tidy. Food was pretty good most days.
Do NOT send your loved ones to Chardon Healthcare. In three weeks there, I was not bathed or showered. In three weeks there, my clothes were not changed. Garbage left on the floor for weeks. No housekeeping. My room was never cleaned. Urinal not emptied for days. Bed linens never changed. Food was totally inedible. Had to order food out from UberEats or Door Dash or I wouldn’t eat. Food always cold. Extremely poor nutritional food selection. Boiled cabbage is not a nutritionally adequate vegetable. Staff often lied to Medicare regarding my participation in physical therapy causing my therapy to be discontinued. So much more that is too much to state here. Wish I could post pictures. No matter what the administration says in rebuttal, they lie No consistency in nurses or aids. Had a different nurse (LPN) and aid every shift, every day. Only had a same staff member rarely meaning from what I’ve been told, they are using agency staff members. Not full time staff. Can they not hold on to permanent staff? No continuity in care as a result. Had an attack of cardiac angina at night. Took (agency nurse and aid) over one hour to get me nitro to ease my angina pain. Took over one hour to reach an off site on call doctor. Had a severe abdominal pain incident and took over one hour for an on call doctor to be called who never responded. Finally, 911 had to be called to take me to the hospital. As a result, I have multiple health (including cardiac) issues which are being thankfully addressed by a very competent hospital staff. I am NOT returning to Chardon Healthcare. Care manager at the hospital is finding me a 5 star facility. One more thing; I do not care what the response to my post is from management because, THEY LIE !!! And I’m not the first person to post that!!!
