Our family member is in the Homestead Unit. All of the employees take very good care of our family member. The director is very involved in the care of his residents. He interacts with them daily. He also keeps the families informed and is open to any questions, comments or concerns. The Homestead Unit tries to keep the residents engaged and active as much as possible. We are very happy that our family member is there and are very happy with the care she receives. We know everyone there really cares about her well being and we thank them for the awesome job they do each and everyday!
If it was possible to give 0 stars I would give 0 stars. This place is an absolute JOKE. Our mother was sent to Regis Woods from the hospital to gain some strength and adapt to a new breathing machine. They are inattentive and downright incompetent. They have the blame game down to an absolute science! Members of their staff do not know how to use the breathing machine and on the 5th night they never came to hook her up even though she requested their assistance many times. THIS IS THE MAIN REASON SHE IS IN REHAB. They out and out lied about having to adjust the machine. There are no adjustments, I don't know what that person was doing for her entire shift but it wasn't attending to her patients. In addition, they have not provided our mom's normal medications, again, more blaming and finger pointing. The place is disgusting, it is dirty, the food is AWFUL and they are so understaffed it is pathetic. I understand they cannot respond to your every whim with the speed of an ICU or even a normal hospital floor but to wait 30, 60, 90 minutes for any and every request, no matter the need, is insanity. This is a medical facility not a hotel. Anything and everything they screw up is blamed on the night nurse, the day nurse, the doctor, the hospital. They have taken ZERO responsibility for our mother's care. Thank goodness she is relatively independent, god help the person that is unable to care for themselves and does not have an advocate. We cannot get her our of this place fast enough. After 2 weeks of dealing with the medical community, not just Regis Woods but nearly every member, I have no faith in any of them. What a sad, sad state of affairs.
WORST PLACE EVER!! I wish I could have given 0 stars. The aides and are by far, the most worthless, laziest and rudest people one could ever meet. They have absolutely no care or compassion for patients and should not be working with sick, elderly or people in general. They argue and all place blame on someone or something else. Not sure how it's possible to show up for work and never bother to check in on patients. Briefs not checked for hours on end. We experienced 4, 5, 6. 7, 8 and even 9 hours in the same brief, while family members were present, pushing call button and begging to staff and even managers for help. The food is terrible and there is never enough to satisfy even the smallest of appetites. Biggest complaint from other residents was the lack of food and inability to receive showers. Our personal history reflected 25 days before 1st shower and only provided when asked for after that and usually had to ask more than once. Only method of cleaning was wet wipes. A wheelchair bound man told me he went 4 months without a shower. RIDICULOUS. Wouldn't refer anyone to this place. I guess my 1 star would go to the salads and fruit plates the kitchen would offer, they were the only thing nice in this entire mess of a place. Please understand, the mention of the fruit plates and salads were in no way intended to be a compliment to the kitchen or its staff by any means. One would have to beg to receive them. This place should be shut down by the state. Patients living here with dogs, cats and I even saw a bird. Mother dog had puppies that were sold out of this building. Sad truth is, this place is absolutely terrible.
I am the POA for a lady that is in the Memory Care Unit. The nurses and staff have done a good job caring for her. This area is kept clean and they folks living there are entertained with game activities, along with other guess that will come in a share with singing, church etc. The director and nurse staff keep you informed of your loved ones condition and other things that may come up. I'm pleased she is living here and she has accepted it as home now.
My grandmother was at Regis Woods for several weeks for rehab services. The therapy team is A+. They built up her strength and confidence to return to her independent living facility. Nurses and CNAs were kind and courteous. The housekeeping staff went out of their way to greet her in the hallways most days. She made several friends during her stay, and even joined a group for meals in the cafeteria, while most TCU patients ate meals at bedside.
