I accidentally deleted my review when I saw they replied a while ago. They are horrible to their patients. No, I do not want to contact you to talk about it. I have enough reasons to think that you neglect the elderly and have zero compassion. There is nothing to work out there. Hope you get shut down. Original post was about the furnace going out, then not notifying family properly, threatening my mother that she would get in trouble for taking my grandmother out, were not giving residence blankets to stay warmer. But yeah, reply with a comment trying to save face.

This facility needs to be shut down! I had a friend that had to go there for two months after being released from the hospital. They put him in a room that was dirty needed painted wall sockets coming out of the wall no curtains no blinds. His window looked out to the courtyard so he had no privacy to dress or Undress. I brought his clothes and they said they were going to mark them. I bought him six new pairs of pants that he needed. They took them from me and said they would mark them. The new pants disappeared. The whole time he was there we had to search for his clothing and his blankets. They did not do therapy like they were supposed to be doing and probably bill Medicaid for something they did not do. It has been 9 months since he left there and went to assisted-living and we have fought with them since to get a refund for two of the pairs of pants that we could not find. Was just asking them to replace or refund for two of the new pairs of pants not asking for replacement of all the other clothes and blankets that they lost . Every time we call they would lie and say they sent a check and no check was ever received today. Nine months later they say that when he pays his $900 balance, they will send him a check for his two pairs of pants. This is the first we knew that there was a balance due, and it should be sent to Medicaid and Medicare . The time that he was there, they would never come in his room and clean it change the sheets. While I was there, I always observed elderly people sitting around that we’re in desperate need of help and they just ignored them. This is one of the worst places I have ever seen . Even some of the employees that left there commented on how bad it was and embarrassed to say they worked there, but they left.as of July 2 2024 he still has not received payment for the two new pairs of pants. It’s pretty bad when administration continually lies to the people that live there and their families. They’re social worker who was working in laundry continued to tell us that nobody had an opening for him to be moved. we were trying to get him into Bethany in Council Bluffs . We got him transferred out of Oakland to Missouri Vally and then I decided to call Bethany myself and confirmed that Oakland Manor was not trying to get him transferred there. I was able to get him transferred from Missouri Valley to Bethany Manor and we absolutely love it.

I was with this company for about four years, the managers are so unbelievably unprofessional. Nothing is ever communicated as to why the place is still a one star rating. I definitely do not recommend this place to anybody.Especially a family member. Nobody there shows compassion. They truly do not care and I myself have noticed that very clearly the last four years I was there.

This place is inhumane and an absolute disgrace. Residents are treated poorly and there is zero communication or resolution from the staff. The Administrator is completely hands off and refuses to assist as issues arise. You can escalate your concerns to the MGM regional office, but they won't do anything either. Do not trust these people with your loved ones.

Oakland Manor has been one of the best facilities that I have come across for the care of my father. The staff is amazing. It is not that easy to provide healthcare for a love one. This facility has welcomed my dad with open arms. The staff has cared for my dad and as well for other clients. The procedure and transitions has been one step at a time. If you have questions, the staff is there to provide answers. From the director, CNAs, nurse, dietitian, physical therapy, and other staff members involved have been an excellent team of assistance for my dad. I highly recommend Oakland Manor for your love one's care. Communication is key to a successful living for assisted living. Always remember to visit your love ones. I thank the staff for the hard work and dedication they provide for our family members. Thank you again and highly recommend this facility.
