ST JAMES LIVING CENTER

Wish I could give zero stars, but I can't. My brother has been a resident here for about 5 years now, and unfortunately still is. A year ago they "helped" him file for social security, and when he received it, they demanded his back pay (several thousand dollars) be put in a trust with them. Since then, he hasn't been "allowed' to touch it. It's his money. Unless St. James Living Center is doing, or has done something nefarious with it, shouldn't he be able to do with his money as he pleases? Not according to them! My brother is also on Medicaid, which pays for the facility. He also had a debit card that his monthly SSI payments go to. Recently, after finding out he had a card, whomever is in charge of the facility DEMANDED his debit card information for some sort of payment! He's been there for 5 years, and never once did they demand any sort of payment for anything (remember, he's on Medicaid, which is paying for his care) but now they're suddenly charging him? That's illegal according to The Nursing Home Care Act, and I will be contacting the Ombudsman, filing a complaint, and contacting a lawyer if need be. These people are vile, horrible, money hungry, dishonest, evil people. Don't trust this facility, or those who run it, with yourself, or anyone you love. Trust me.

Our mom did her hospice care here. Only took 2 days but while there they staff was wonderful. When she passed they were caring and professional. They handled her with dignity and gentleness. Its a down home kind of feel. Perfect for mom. Thank you

Was not happy about some of the people that work there. They treated me poorly. I also seen how they treated others. I do recommend the therapy program there, they are very nice, caring, and helpful. They have compassion for people and they help you reach your goals. But as far as the living center they need to get better workers there. There were only 4 people there that actually cared about what I was going through. This is how I felt. I can't speak for anyone else there. But from a 1 to 10 --- 10 being great and 1 being very poor I would give it a 4 and that's for the ladies that treated me with respect. Thank you

The therapy department did a great job with my mom and the transport diver's were also great. The social worker did not do anything and they never updated me on her discharge so there was no planning meeting and no plan for her to transfer. The administration is very unprofessional and was dressed in gym shirts and a t-shirt.

My dear friend experienced too much theft of her possessions (any theft is awful, but this was ridiculous!) and was left without care when needing help to use the restroom way too often. Humiliating! PT was helpful. Complaints of food quality were common.
