My wife was admitted to Canterbury today for PT rehab. It was a very positive experience. The morning began with a visit from the Genesis SW at the hospital to talk to explain the intake process, what the facility was like and answer any questions. Later in the morning she arrived at the facility and was immediately greeted by the staff. There was a full day of processing, including a nurses intake, administrative activities, visits by the physical therapist, nurse, nurse aids, social worker, and several others. An in-depth PT assessment was done after lunch. It was a busy day but very productive. She had missed lunch but was promptly provided a meal. We found the room clean, staged and ready to go. Good first day!
My mother in law has been in here for about a week now, currently I have been sitting on the phone with her for now 53 minutes and she has messed herself and her call bell has been on this whole time. I have now called twice and was told “she was changed earlier” I explained I get that however she has messed herself. I have now spoken with Claira the nurse, who explained Corinna was her aide. She stated she had the whole hall by herself, I get it’s a lot. But having a call bell on for an hour is absolutely ridiculous. If the option to move her is available, it will definitely be made.
My mom has only been there a few hours.....but she seems really happy and really enjoyed hearing the gentleman there that was singing
I spent approximately 1 week in Canterbury for Rehab. After I left I was surprised how much I missed the staff and the facility. Housekeeping was in my room frequently. Food Service was excellent and the Manager listened to all my requests. Thank you to all of the Nursing Staff! They were all very attentive, timely and patient. PT, OT, Speech and Social Services were the best I’ve ever had. They were so thorough, knowledgeable and caring! Thank you. Many blessings to all of Canterbury. Cristina Miccio
We celebrated my daughter's Birthday at Genesis today. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. We appreciate them all. Residents seemed to enjoy the party as well!
