Vernon Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center

My 97 year old Mom fell in her home on Oct 2, 2025. She had surgery on October 4th and on October 7, 2025 with the help of Kristi and Racquel along with the Manchester Hospital Social Worker they made arrangements to transport my Mom to the Rehab wing at Vernon Rehab. Kristi made sure we had a set up so my 24 hour private caregivers could stay in the room round the clock with my Mom. Also being able to have my Mom's all black German Shepherd, Blackie Girl come and visit daily was so appreciated and needed for my Mom. A special shout out to Lori, one of my Mom's aides who was exceptional in her care. Some of her other aides, Andre, KiJana, and Claudette were also so extremely kind and helpful too .I know there were others also along with Nurses that took took wonderful care of my Mom. The Physical Therapy staff that worked with my Mom were amazing. Maggie, Chris, Brian and Hailey were incredible!! I appreciate Justine for trying to get my Mom.to eat, but my Mom had no appetite at all when there. I also thank Heather , the Social Worker for listening to me when I said I needed to get my Mom home as soon as possible . Since my Mom also has dementia, she was starting to shut down and was getting very agitated. With the help of Heather, a Nurse named Ruth , approval from PT , October 25, 2025 was my Mom's discharge date. I also want to thank Lisa, the Hairdresser for giving my Mom a beautiful haircut on her 97th birthday . The cleaning lady, Amanda was always so friendly and personable. The first person Enony I saw every morning welcomed me with a hello and smile and Patty F in the late afternoon/ early evening did the same everyday on my way out. My Dad was in Rehab there over 15 years ago. The Dr's after my Dad's brain surgery after a fall to his head said he would NEVER walk again. Well guess what....back when it was called Vernon Manor, the PT people and staff got my Dad standing up and able to take steps once again! That is why I chose Vernon Rehab for my Mom. My room was shared with one other patient. Big room with a really nice bathroom. All the people working there were really friendly and helpful. Using the call button for assistance brought help quick, even in the middle of the night. Physical, speech and occupational therapy available if needed. Food was good. Daily planned activities, and other things like games, books and puzzles so you don't get bored.

My mother in law is doing rehab there. The aids and nurses are very attentive and caring. She lives going to rehab, she looks forward to it every day. The facility is clean. The food is good. The room is very nice.

Spend much time w/my husband (who has dementia). Didn’t observe any therapy over weekend. Christopher PT during week excellent. Staff do a great job - very caring! Hannah RN & Claudette CNA especially helpful & caring

My mother is there and feels the staff is rude and unresponsive to her needs and she is often ignored at times . They huff at her when ask for help in the bathroom. She is given barely enough food. They leave the tray and never come back. She is not even given a drink and when she asks for a tea bag, they tell her they have no more. The food quality is less than adequate also . The therapy however is very good as is the aesthetics of the place .
