Cornerstone Home Health

Initially, all seemed good with this company. Lots of plans and promises. They were quick to call and set up the first appt. All seemed quite well. But after not following thru on several commitments and lack of customer service, by the end of the 3rd week we cancelled this home health care service.

BE VERY CAREFUL DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.  THEY DO NOT DO PROPER BACKGROUND CHECKS ON THEIR AIDES. Cornerstone leadership has a history of not completing state-mandated background checks and failing to follow state law. (I found this out personally and via a state Open Records Search.) In our case, Cornerstone leadership hired and assigned a convicted felon, who was on a national DO NOT HIRE registry of individuals found guilty of elder fraud and abuse and exploitation, to care for my father, a US Navy Ret., Vietnam Vet, and Bronze Star Recipient. I was the one who discovered this woman was not who she claimed to be, and immediately contacted Cornerstone.  Cornerstone's owner told me they fired the person the next day and released my father as a client knowing we would never trust them again. I notified the State of Oklahoma and the VA. The Oklahoma State Department of Health quickly confirmed that Cornerstone was indeed NOT properly completing background checks.  THIS IS NOT A NEW REQUIREMENT. Cornerstone responded to the state's evaluation with promises to do better by implementing a different screening process for new hires.  At no point in the report/response was there an indication that CURRENT employees would be re-screened. Cornerstone still has their license to do business. Please be aware of all of this when you make a choice for your loved one.

We have been with Cornerstone for almost 2 yrs. They have been very good to us. We have a lot of schedule changes due to Doctor appointments & they always work with us on changing them.

Cornerstone took care of my mother for almost two years. She was in late stage dementia and if anyone has experienced that with a loved one, knows it can be very hard on everyone involved. The nurses that took care of her were nothing but kind and patient with her. To the point I think at times she looked forward to their visit more then she did mine. Cornerstone administration always stayed in contact with me. Kept me informed of any changes in her medications, her eating habits, if she was feeling more agitated one day to the next. It meant so much to me since I lived out of town. I felt very confident that she was getting the best of care. They were truly a God Send to our family. Most importantly, the nurse would pray with my mother before she left after giving her care. My mother never lost her faith, so I know that meant a lot to her! I would highly recommend this company if your loved one needs care.

Cornerstone has been caring for and loving my mother as one of their own family members for over ten years. The nursing care and personal care they gave allowed my mother to stay in her own home for several years until needing 24 hour care. One of the nurses even monitored mom’s heart noticing she had several low beats per minute that resulted in her getting a pace maker. They also helped her through two hip replacements while she was at home. Now that she is in a 24 hour facility, Cornerstone still has a nurse and health aide seeing her.
