About
In January 2005, I left a nearly 30 year career as a legal assistant to take full-time care of my grandmother, with Hospice assistance, so she could live the rest of her days at home. That was the beginning of Young Assistance. A personal assistant, concierge and companion service so that you have a better day. I have friendly, competent caregivers screened through the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). I have a licensed Homemaker/Companion business, and am a member of the Better Business Bureau and Dunedin Chamber of Commerce.
My goal for Young Assistance was to help more people like my grandmother, who need assistance with their daily tasks, whatever they may be, so they would have better days and they too could remain in the comfort of their own homes.
To accomplish this goal, we work with seniors and their working or out-of-town families who have the responsibility of their elder parents or grandparents, like I did. Adults who have worked all day and then come home to homework, dinner, baseball practice or dance class, can now have quality evening and weekend visits with their elder loved ones, because all of their daily tasks are already done. We shop for groceries and gifts, prepare healthy meals, do light housekeeping and laundry, transportation and companion services to fun and stimulating outings like restaurants, the hair salon, bookstore, beach, movies/theater, ball games-name your happy place! For out-of-town families, we are a local contact you can call, who is already close to your loved one, in case of an emergency until you can get here.
