Caregiver Cook

Overview We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Caregiver Cook whose primary focus is meal preparation and kitchen management, while also providing supportive caregiving to residents as needed. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in cooking nutritious, home-style meals and maintaining an organized kitchen, while also being attentive to residents’ comfort and well-being. ⸻ Key Responsibilities Kitchen & Food Service Duties (Primary Focus) * Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks that are nutritious, well-balanced, and tailored to residents’ dietary needs * Create and maintain weekly or monthly menus * Manage food ordering, inventory, and kitchen supplies to ensure consistent stock levels * Maintain emergency food supplies and ensure they are always up to date * Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and fully compliant with sanitation and food safety standards * Follow proper food handling, storage, and temperature guidelines * Oversee kitchen organization, including labeling, stock rotation, and minimizing food waste * Assist with meal service and help create a warm, welcoming dining experience for residents Caregiving Support Duties (Secondary Role) * Assist residents with basic activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, mobility, and dressing as needed * Provide companionship and support residents’ emotional well-being * Observe and report any changes in residents’ condition to the appropriate staff * Support medication reminders as directed * Ensure residents are comfortable, safe, and treated with dignity at all times ⸻ Qualifications & Skills * Experience in cooking, meal preparation, or food service required * Previous caregiving experience preferred but not required * Strong understanding of kitchen organization and food safety practices * Ability to manage kitchen responsibilities independently and efficiently * Comfortable assisting with basic caregiving tasks when needed * Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented * Compassionate and patient with a resident-focused mindset ⸻ Why Join Us This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being in the kitchen and takes pride in preparing meals that make a difference in residents’ daily lives, while also offering meaningful support and care.
