Caregiver Job Description
Personal Care Assistants provide direct care assistance to residents who reside in assisted living and memory care community, Support the mission, vision, and culture of the organization through positive communication and leadership. Daily responsibilities include providing assistance or reminders with activities of daily living, including grooming, oral hygiene, bath/shower, hair cleaning/brushing, and transferring to and from activities and meals, as needed. Lift and/or transfer residents, assist with mobility needs, and make resident rounds as directed by care plans. Applicants must be able to stand, stoop and bend frequently. Must to be able to lift and push up to 50 pounds. In order to appropriately provide care to residents, candidates must be able to talk, hear, sit, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. Must be willing to accept and work assignments and shifts as assigned. Currently, NOC, AM and PM shifts available and includes includes weekends and holidays per a rotating 4/2 schedule. Ability to follow proper procedures as related to emergency situations, perform work assignments and attend required in-service training as assigned and required are a requirement. Candidate must be able to promote a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork, have a positive attitude and ability to work well with all people, and honor and respect residents' rights. We encourage those both with specific work experience of caring for others, and those who have personal experience in caring for others to apply. High school diploma or equivalent certificate is preferred. Must be able to speak, read and understand English fluently. Must be at least 18 years old, must be able to pass required health screening, TB clearance, drug clearance, and criminal record clearance. Encourage those who are already vaccinated for COVID-19 to apply or those interested and/or willing to become vaccinated.
