Caregiver Job Description
Caregivers are responsible for providing assistance to others who cannot live fully independent lives due to mental, physical, or psychological disabilities, but who wish to reside safely in the community. Caregivers attend to specific needs of each disabled resident such as feeding, bathing, toileting, dressing, cooking, shopping, walking, transitioning, light exercise, and medication management. Caregivers ensure residents are living in a clean and safe environment, provide light housekeeping, laundry, supervision, transportation, and companionship as well as other assigned tasks. Caregivers must be at least 18 years of age or older, a high school graduate, must have completed the coursework for CBRF Certification, must be responsible, have good interpersonal skills, must be able to stick to the work schedule agreed to, and must have reliable transportation.
