Caregiver Job Description
Requirements – Candidates must have reliable transportation and the ability to work a scheduled shift A negative 2 step TB test results or chest x-ray A clean criminal background check A physical and first aid/CPR certification Job duties-- All duties as assigned by the client’s Care Plan Assisting the client with activities of daily living including, but not limited to, bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, oral hygiene, ambulation and feeding Supporting and providing a clean, safe and healthy environment for clients and family members Performing light housekeeping such as cleaning/sanitizing kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms; laundry, etc. Assisting in meeting the client’s nutritional needs by planning and preparing meals Assisting the client with ambulation/transfers as specified in the Care Plan Reminding the client to take self-administered medications Observing and reporting any changes in the client’s mental, physical or emotional condition or home situation to supervisor or agency manager and any other needed parties in a timely manner Establishing and maintaining effective communication and a professional relationship with clients, family members, and co-workers Participating in continuing education programs, staff meetings, and client conferences as required Complete required documentation of services delivered, including time sheets promptly Use equipment and supplies safely and properly Maintain client confidentiality at all times Perform any other duties as they become assigned Demonstrate competency by passing a competency exam developed by the agency which meets PA state regulation
