Direct Support Professional (ABI Client) – 12-Hour Shifts Location: Bridgeport, CT Schedule: Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Overnight Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Butler Rescue Hands, Inc. is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support a male client with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). This role requires hands-on care, patience, and experience working with individuals who need structured, consistent support in a home setting. Responsibilities include: Providing direct care and supervision in accordance with the client’s care plan Safe use of a Hoyer lift for transfers (experience required) Assisting with personal care, hygiene, toileting, and mobility Supporting daily routines, structure, and engagement Monitoring safety and reporting any changes or concerns Providing overnight supervision as required Maintaining professionalism and client dignity at all times Requirements: Hoyer lift experience required Experience working with ABI, TBI, or similar populations preferred Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days or overnights Reliable transportation Ability to follow care plans and agency policies Strong communication and documentation skills Must pass background checks and meet agency hiring requirements What we offer: Consistent, long shifts (12 hours) Meaningful work making a real difference Opportunities for ongoing cases and growth within the agency If you are patient, dependable, and experienced in providing hands-on care, we encourage you to apply and join a team committed to quality, dignity, and person-centered support.
