Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
Position Summary: STNAs assist the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living. Qualifications: Successful completion of a State Tested Nurse Aide training program. Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred. Registration with State registry required. Ability to understand and follow instructions, communicates effectively and performs simple arithmetic. Ability to document care given. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting, transfers, transports, escorts and exercising. 2. Gives treatments, performs tests, carries our procedures and collects specimens as instructed. 3. Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests and procedures and specimens when indicated. 4. Answers signal lights promptly. 5. Change bed linens, make beds and keep rooms clean and orderly. Maintains safe and sanitary work stations and equipment. 6. Encourages independence, attendance at activities, restorative programs and rehabilitation. 7. Encourages restorative care in order to obtain maximum resident independence. 8. Commits to high ethical standards and complies with the Code of Conduct, state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and Concordia policies and procedures. Maintains confidentiality of resident and employee records and information. Has a duty to report compliance concerns, significant legal risk questions, fraud, abuse, suspected or actual misconduct to a supervisor/manager or to the Corporate Compliance Officer.
