Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
A. Responsibilities: Complies with all procedures as established by the Director of Nursing. Does appropriate paperwork as instructed by the Charge Nurse • Shower or bath, shampoo and skin care • Oral hygiene – denture and mouth care • Foot care • Whirlpool baths • Incontinency – empty, clean catheters, change diapers, change and rinse colostomy bags • Other care as deemed necessary B. Residents’ Welfare • Applies treatments per order of floor nurse • Assists with any physical or emotional therapy as indicated by appropriate therapist. i.e. walk resident at specified time intervals • Responsible for and assists with general personal care of residents. o Shower or bath, shampoo and skin care o Oral hygiene – denture and mouth care o Foot care o Whirlpool baths o Incontinency – empty, clean catheters, change diapers, change and rinse colostomy bags o Other care as deemed necessary • Accommodates residents where and when necessary even if someone else’s assignment • Assists charge nurse when necessary • Assists in transporting residents to activities or appointments when necessary.
