Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
Provides various personal care and related paraprofessional services in accordance with an established plan of care. Provides for the personal needs and comfort of patients in their homes. Essential Functions 1. Adheres to Agency policies and procedures. 2. Performs work under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor. 3. Performs personal care activities contained in a written assignment by the Nursing Supervisor which includes but is not limited to, assisting the patient with activities of daily living, such as: Personal hygiene (assisting to bathroom or in using bedpan, bathing, care of mouth, skin and hair) a. Ambulation b. Eating c. Dressing d. Shaving e. Meal Preparation Performs light housekeeping tasks that will facilitate the patient's self-care at home. These tasks include, but are not limited to: a. Vacuuming b. Dusting c. Sweeping or mopping floors d. Doing dishes e. Laundry f. Cleaning bathrooms Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Availability I. High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred. 2. Six months experience as a Personal Care Assistant in health care (in homes or facilities) is preferred
