The Compassionate Caregiver position at Watermark Senior Living is vital to the mission of Watermark, and as such, we are looking for someone who: - Shares our vision of a culture where staff, residents and their families are treated with honor, dignity, and respect. - Embodies the “extra-mile” mindset that is the heart of our mission. - Is excited and motivated by the opportunity to be a key player in positioning Watermark to become the first call for senior living in Hall County - Views their career as a calling and has long sought an opportunity where they can truly have an impact on the lives of others. - Other qualities that the ideal candidate for Caregiver/Resident Associate possesses include: - A passion for working with seniors - A high degree of patience and empathy when interacting with residents and their families - A demonstrable track record of serving the elderly with respect and compassion. - Exceptional organizational skills - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Exceptional listening skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of personalities - A commitment to excellence both personally and professionally - Utmost attention to detail - Self-starter that needs minimal direction and shows initiative and ownership of the position SKILLS AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements: - Ability to follow both oral and written instructions. - Tact and professionalism in dealing with team members, residents and their families. - Proficiency in the use of technology (computers, software, tablets, etc.) - Reliable transportation - Dependable and punctual - Exemplary track record of attendance in previous positions EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Desire to work with older adults - Energetic, cheerful disposition. - First Aid/CPR Training Preferred: - Previous experience working with seniors in a personal care home or other healthcare-related setting ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Assists with activities of daily living, to include: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring - Ensures cleanliness of resident rooms and common areas. - Completes daily reports of services provided. - Assists residents with managing their medication. - Assists with resident activities and encourages resident participation (e.g. arts and crafts, exercise, game play, birthday parties). - Adheres to each resident's service plan and notifies supervisor of any changes in resident's condition. - Establishes and maintains strong with rapport with residents and their families. - Encourages residents to attend meals in the dining room, assists residents to and from meals, assists with serving meals and observes/reports changes in residents' appetite and ability to eat and drink. - Embraces and promotes the Guiding Principles of Watermark Senior Living by ensuring individualized care and quality care services to residents and family members. WORK SCHEDULE Available Shifts: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM; 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (Weekend and Weekday Shifts Available). RANGE OF PAY Pay starts at $13/hour and will be commensurate with credentials, qualifications and experience, with the intent to be competitive in the market.
