The Home Care Aide acts with compassion, respect, and professionalism, adhering to all guidelines and policies set forth by the agency. *Key Responsibilities: 1. **Personal Care Assistance:** - Aid clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting. - Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation to prevent falls and ensure safety. - Monitor client health, noting and reporting any changes in condition. 2. **Household Support:** - Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces. - Prepare and serve meals according to client dietary needs and preferences. - Run errands, including grocery shopping and prescription pickup, as needed. 3. **Companionship and Emotional Support:** - Provide companionship and engage clients in activities that enhance emotional well-being. - Listen to clients' concerns and provide a supportive, understanding presence. - Communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals regarding client needs and progress. 4. **Medication Reminders:** - Provide medication reminders as instructed, ensuring that clients adhere to their prescribed schedules. - Observe clients for any adverse reactions or side effects. 5. **Documentation and Reporting:** - Maintain accurate and timely records of services provided and observations made. - Report any changes in the client’s condition or environment to the supervisor promptly. **Qualifications:** - High school diploma or equivalent; certification in caregiving or a related field is preferred. - Previous experience as a Home Care Aide, Personal Care Assistant, or similar role is an advantage. - CPR and First Aid certification preferred. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to follow care plans and perform duties with minimal supervision. **Physical Requirements:** - Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds. - Physical stamina for assisting with transfers, mobility, and household tasks. **Working Conditions:** - Work is performed in clients' homes, which may vary in cleanliness and condition. - Schedule flexibility may be required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. **Key Skills:** - Compassionate and patient demeanor. - Dependable and organized with strong attention to detail. - Ability to respect client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
