Description Various certified nursing assistant (CNA) jobs available on our team. Full time Noc and PM CNA shifts, along with part-time PM CNA shifts, and every other weekend day shift CNA positions available in our skilled nursing facility. Work with an excellent team in our Eden Alternative home. A critically important role in the daily life of this community is filled by the certified nursing assistant. A certified nursing assistant (CNA) is the person who knows the neighbors (residents) most closely and often times is their closest friend. CNAs provide medical and physical care to the neighbors to meet their daily needs and enable them to function at the highest possible level. Eliminating the plagues of loneliness, helplessness, and boredom motivates our CNAs to work with the whole care partner team to identify ways to deepen relationships, create meaning, and aid neighbors in being the decision makers in their lives. As part of the neighborhood team our CNAs help to support the activities of the neighborhood including recreation, restorative exercises, minor housekeeping, and meal service. All interactions with neighbors, co-workers, family and visitors are performed in a kind and caring manner. CNAs are part of a care partner team responsible for creating home for the neighbors here in our community. Requirements • Must have a current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Wisconsin, or currently enrolled in school to become a CNA. • High school diploma or equivalent (or ability to obtain within 1st year of employment). • Maintain CPR/First Aid Certification per state regulations. Job Responsibilities As a certified nursing assistant (CNA) you will help with all of the following items: – You will attend to all neighbor personal hygiene & personal care needs, including but not limited to grooming, hygiene, dining & nutritional, mobility, elimination, psychosocial & safety needs. You organize all supplies necessary to complete the tasks. You support neighbors in self- care & provide care as necessary for those unable to care for their own needs. You follow universal precautions, proper infection control, sanitation & safety standards of practice in all work & activities. -You provide restorative therapy under the leadership of restorative nurse/therapy professionals & in accordance with the neighbors functional maintenance plan -You observe neighbors closely, identifying changing needs & conditions at first indication, & report immediately to the licensed nurse -You participate in the neighbor’s care planning & care conference, serving as the neighbor’s closest advocate in directing their care & honoring their preferences -You keep homes clean and tidy -You keep wheelchairs clean -You know and comply with neighbor rights and promptly report neighbor complaints, grievances or violation of neighbor rights -You are responsible for completing the necessary continuing education required to maintain your Certified Nursing Assistant Certification -You participate with the household team to make the dining experience pleasant -You follow safe handling & sanitation practices -You may participate in cooking and/or serving meals
