Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
Must have caring disposition and enthusiasm for working with a geriatric population Must have current STNA license Get report and any special instructions for the patients in your assigned section from the Charge Nurse. Review the resident shower schedule and perform showering duties accordingly. Notify Charge Nurse of any resident skin abnormalities identified during showering Assess all residents in your section for toileting needs as well as turning and repositioning needs, perform task accordingly. Assist residents in your section with their ADLs. Ensure residents are groomed hair and oral hygiene Ensure resident call light cords are in reach at all times. Check residents’ vital signs; Blood pressure and heart rate as directed by Charge Nurse Weigh resident on appropriate scale in accordance with facility policy Distribute ice water to all residents and other liquids for resident hydration Encourage residents to participate and transport residents to group activities and the dining room for meals. Feed residents as appropriate; document food and fluid intake Stock nursing personal care supplies in resident bathroom closets as supplies are depleted. Communicate any resident complaints i.e. pain, congestion or headache to the Charge Nurse. Maintain physical Privacy while providing direct resident care. Maintain resident confidentiality at all times. Ensure their living space is kept tidy and free of hazards for the sake of everyone’s safety. Check in with charge nurse periodically throughout shift and report your accomplished duties. Remove incontinence products from resident rooms and take the trash in the soiled by the end of your shift if you are assigned to the middle section.
