Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Residential Assisted Living Home
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team in a small, home-like residential assisted living setting. This role focuses on providing personalized, high-quality care to a small group of residents while fostering a warm, respectful, and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration as permitted by state regulations
Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, and mental conditions to the appropriate supervisor
Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining proper nutrition and hydration
Assist with light housekeeping duties such as laundry, cleaning resident rooms, and maintaining common areas
Build meaningful relationships with residents and provide companionship and emotional support
Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment at all times
Follow individualized care plans and document care provided accurately and timely
Respond promptly to resident needs, emergencies, or call systems
Collaborate with team members, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications:
Current CNA certification in the state of employment
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Previous experience in assisted living, home care, or long-term care preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a small, close-knit team
Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude toward elderly residents
Work Environment:
Small residential setting with a low resident-to-staff ratio
Home-like atmosphere focused on individualized care rather than institutional routines
Opportunity to build close relationships with residents and families
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents with mobility (up to 50 lbs or more with assistance)
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
