Home Health Aide (HHA) Job Description

Job Criteria:
1. Valid certificate from an approved Virginia Training Program with understanding of job description/Scope of Practice as a Nurse Aide or Personal Care Aide.
2. Two satisfactory, "Character Reference" letters from employer, Charge Nurse, or HR.
3, Resume, updated Entry-level applicants with 2-3 years of consecutive employment relevant to direct hands-on experience acquired in hospital, nursing homes, or home health care setting.
4. A copy of immunitization health record, vaccines with COVID-19/Flu, a Negative TB test, an American Heart or Red Cross CPR/FA card.
5. The Personal Care Aides are required to take a refresher class before being assigned a client, per the Department of Medical Assistance regulation, 2023.
6. Applicants with Criminal Record will not be able to provide healthcare services.
7. Reliable transportation to and from your assignment.
8. In-Home visit dress code: "Professional " health care attire for all client services.
9. Reliable smartphone for communication, scheduled hours per Plan of Care electronic visit verification system.

Be able to read, write, and understand the medical advice/plan of care required for assisting the client with their dependent or independent daily direct hand-on personal care safety and service needs to include the following, bathing, grooming, theraputic prep meals and feeding assistance, light home care management, medication reminders only, medical visits, shopping errands, engage in physical activities, social activities and companionship for the caregivers take a break !
