Home Health Aide (HHA) Job Description
Dunwoody at Home is looking for experienced and reliable Home Health Aides/Private Duty Companions to join our team! Interested candidates must be available to work Monday-Sunday for one of the following shifts: 7am-3pm, 7:30am-11:30am, 12pm-5pm, 3pm11pm, 6pm-8pm or 11pm-7am. This position includes working a weekend and holiday rotation. The health and safety of our team members and residents are our most important priority. With this in mind, we do require that all Dunwoody at Home employees be vaccinated against COVID-19 and Influenza. Exemptions based on religious beliefs and qualifying medical reasons will be considered. Duties of our aides include but are not limited to: Assisting with direct patient care procedures and related tasks as they pertain to safety, hygiene, nutrition, and socialization. Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. These may include the following: laundry, light housekeeping, shopping, transporting, and accompanying clients to various activities. Reporting any change in clients’ status to appropriate personnel. For example: change in mental status, change in appetite, and change in gait. To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria: High school diploma or its equivalent at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above – preferably in a setting providing exemplary care for older adults. Although not required, PA Certified Nursing Assistants in good standing are welcome to apply. Knowledge of patient evaluation and triage procedures. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards. Ability to lift and turn patients Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories when applicable. Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements. Knowledge of specific patient care equipment is preferred. Certification/Licensure/Registration: Successful completion of Dunwoody at Home competency test or documentation of successfully completing a Competency Training Program or examination from another home care agency or registry provided the break in employees’ roster or working status does not exceed twelve months.
