Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Description
Job Summary: The duties of a staff LPN position may vary depending on the work environment but they generally include the following. Candidates will be required to work under the supervision of registered nurses and perform duties as assigned by the facility director at any and all locations. Essential Job Functions ●Observe and record Patient behavior ● Collect patient health history ● Administer medication, change wound dressings and care for other treatment options ● Provides emotional support and promotes a sense of well-being. ● Provides for a clean, safe, and healthy environment for patients and family members. ● Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate. ● Consult with charge nurses to decide the best treatment plan possible ● Observes and reports any changes in the Patient's mental, physical, or emotional condition or home situation to registered nurse manager in a timely manner ● Establishes and maintain effective communication and a professional relationship with Patients, family members and co-workers ● Completes required documentation of services and submits to office in a manner according to policy ● Uses equipment and supplies safely and properly ● Maintains confidentiality regarding Patient information ● Other reasonable related duties as assigned by charge nurse and or director Qualifications: 1. Candidates need to have earned a minimum state approved licensed practical nurse certification, or associates degree of applied science in nursing. 2. Must demonstrate satisfactory completions of any agency mandated training. a. Must satisfactorily complete annual training, competency test, and orientation program(s). Must accept responsibility for learning and adhering to Premier Care's policies and procedures. 3. Applicant must be bondable and meet or exceed minimum qualifications for each of the following background checks: a. Criminal Background Investigation/fingerprinting,Professional Reference Checks, 4. Ability to fulfill assignments with reliability and punctuality. 5. Ability to actively communicate with the Agency 6. Must have reliable transportation. 7. Must be genuinely concerned about helping people and have high moral standards of honesty and integrity.
