Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Job Description
We are currently recruiting LVNs to join our team. We service all of Los Angeles County as well as San Bernardino County. Job Description: 1. Initiated Nursing Care Plans on all patients under care and keeps them current. 2. Charts procedures performed. 3. Reports pertinent information regarding patients to the team leader of charge nurse of the unit assigned. 4. Has the basic knowledge of/and is able to perform all routine functions of the nurse’s aide and orderly. 5. Accurately observes and records all functions performed by self and/or other ancillary nursing personnel under supervision of the LVN which are pertinent to the care and welfare of patients. Notifies the Nursing Care Coordinator or the Charge Nurse immediately of any observed outward effects to medication or treatment which patient may experience. Assists in maintaining patient’s personal hygiene by giving or supervising proper skin care of incontinent, diabetic or unconscious patients, also assists in maintaining good oral hygiene to patients. 6. Aware of and assists in maintaining the nutritional needs of the patient, including patients on special diets. 7. Assists in maintaining and restoring normal elimination by catheterizing, irrigating and giving proper skin care to colostomies and ileostomies. 8. Assists in positioning and maintenance of good body mechanics for patients whether they be ambulatory in bed or are positioned for special examination or treatments. 9. Performs selected procedures that may be assigned if trained and approved by the supervisor and/or nursing office personnel. 10. Performs and assists in selected diagnostic and therapeutic nursing procedures as instructed and assigned. 11. Contributes to meeting the emotional, spiritual and recreational needs of patient by being aware of and understanding these needs. 12. Is active in contributing to the total patient care of all patients on the nursing units by being aware of the duties of the other nursing personnel and assists them whenever and wherever possible as needed. 13. Realizes the necessity of a clean, orderly and well equipped nursing unit and is willing to clean, stock and label as needed. 14. Assists in the orientation of new personnel and in maintaining a good working spirit among nursing personnel. Requirements -Active and Current State Professional License -CPR Certification
