The Personal Care Attendant of Care Partners At Home provides activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) service to clients who pay privately or are covered by insurance that does not require a certified home care aide to provide the services. QUALIFICATIONS: · Must be at least 18 years of age · Prefer high school degree or GED · Must have at least one year of employment experiences as a Basic Personal Care Attendant · Has registered with the Home Care Aide Registry · Affiliated Home Care Aids: Proof of completion of a minimum 5 hours of entry level training prior to client contact which must include but not limited to; two hours of orientation regarding his/her role as a caregiver and terms of employment; three hours of training focused on infection control, emergency procedures to also include a First Aide certificate. · Ongoing proof of 5 hours annually to include but not limited to topics such as: client rights and safety, providing for and responding to client’s needs, reporting, detecting, preventing abuse and neglect, assisting clients with personal hygiene and other home care services, and how to properly transport a client. · Certified Nursing Assistants: Proof of successful completion a minimum of 40 hours of training and/or demonstrated competency in and knowledge of: o Responsibilities and limitations communication techniques o Client rights confidentiality of PHI o Respect for person and property o Observation for client changes to report o Standard infection control o Home safety precautions o Basic body functions and variances o Procedures for clean, safe environment o Emergency response o Physical, emotional, and mental client care o Bed, sponge, tub or shower bath o Skin care, oral hygiene, toileting o Basic nutrition, meal preparation o Encouraging independent care o Documentation techniques o Supervisory support and duties o Advance directives implications · Ability to communicate with clients and to remain calm under stress · Ability to read and write in English · A state Certified Home Health Care Aide or state Certified Nursing Assistant or pass the agency requirements for a Basic Personal Care Attendant may perform these duties · Ability to follow oral and written directions and complete work as assigned · Ability to maintain confidentiality about client services and personal information · Maintain current state driver’s license and dependable insured automobile · Provide written proof of health status and ability to lift, bend, squat the level and amount determined by each job assigned · Accurately document basic Personal Care Attendant services provided · Present a neat appearance and positive work attitude RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.
