Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description
Summary of position Under the supervision of the assigned LPN/LVN or RN Unit Supervisor provides activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, safety, and comfort of residents/patients as assigned. Assists in providing a positive physical, social, and psychological environment. Follows all Center policies and procedures. This position requires that the applicant take the CNA course of instruction at the facility. Once the applicant is certified, the wages are listed below. Requirements of the position Required Education and Experience • High School Diploma or equivalent • Computer proficiency with Microsoft products Preferred Education and Experience • Experience in a fast-paced environment • Post-acute care or health care experience preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other center staff. Possess special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with long-term care residents and the elderly. Meets all health requirements, as required by law.
