Description** Registered Nurses work as Supervisors in the skilled nursing portion of our community. In this position, they provide skilled nursing care and assessments, supervise the care provided to the residents, consult with physicians, communicate with residents and families. Responsibilities** Direct the functions of the nursing services on tour of duty in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern long-term care facilities. Ensure nursing personnel follow established policies and procedures related to resident care, medication administration and storage, control of medications and supplies. Ensure that a sufficient number of nursing personnel are available to ensure quality care is maintained and routine nursing care is provided to meet the daily nursing care needs of residents. Conduct employee performance evaluations. Manage work assignments as needed. Coordinate nursing services with other disciplines to ensure continuity of residents’ total regimen of care. Make daily rounds of units. Visit residents requiring skilled nursing services on a daily basis to observe and evaluate physical and emotional status. Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required. Conduct and document full physical assessment. Perform direct care as necessary (start IVs, obtain specimens for lab tests as ordered, take vitals, etc.). Assist in monitoring seriously ill residents. Complete resident and employee accident/incident reports and investigations as necessary. Provide first aid or refer for treatment as necessary. Round with physicians as requested or required. Receive and implement physician orders. Communicate with residents, families/visitors, physician, and staff regarding resident condition. Requirements Must have an active license in good standing as a Registered Nurse in Commonwealth of PA. Able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public. Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 25 pounds.
