An RN has the following duties and responsibilities in their workplace: Writing down the medical history of the patient and setting up a plan for their care Dispensing medications to the patient and ensuring that they get the required treatment Consulting with mid-level practitioners and doctors regularly Running diagnostics on patients and analyzing the results Receiving reports from LVNs on patients’ vital signs and analyzing them adequately Supervising LVNs at the patients home
