Home Health and Hospice Care Administrator will develop, operate and manage Medicare and private health insurance organizations which provide services to individuals needing healthcare in their homes.. The Administrator will lead a dynamic team to ensure that our patients have the quality of life to age in place through the continuum of care. The Home health and Hospice administrator will oversee several different types of specialty programs, from business management to nursing administration. The position requires education and experience to lead through management, assessment, planning and staff supervision. The Administrator for Home Health and Hospice must also be able to work seamlessly with other health providers, supervise staff members, and modify programs and policy to meet emerging needs for individual patients as well as the organization and community as a whole. Key Responsibilities Home health and Hospice care Administrator oversees staff and departments at home health and hospice serving patients at home. The Administrator will hire and manage nurses and other health care staff who provide services to patients in home or non-clinical care environments. They must adhere to guidelines on quality of care, understanding the Conditions of Participation and Medicare/CHAP requirements. As well as assisting in the development and management of guidelines based on state and organizational standards. The Administrator must also be proficient in budgeting, resource planning, logistics and development and implementation of care plans for patients. Necessary Skills Because they oversee nursing staff, organize care plans, and arrange or provide training for caregivers, home health and hospice administrators need then following skills: Personnel management, staff training and effective adult learning strategies. Be familiar with local, state and federal regulations governing home health and hospice care provision. Fiscal management and accounting skills , budgets for staff, equipment and service delivery, Establish budgets and guidelines for expenditures. Marketing skills are desired, set goals for growth in patients, service and revenue. Working with diverse staff members and patients makes strong "people" skills and customer service experience is must At least 2 years in management At least 1 year in home health and hospice Degree and Education Requirements A bachelor's degree is preferred or able to attain. Degree majors include health administration, business and masters and or bachelors in nursing. human resources, health information systems and health informatics, healthcare ethics, and the law.
