Atherton is a really nice campus and well maintained. The staff is very friendly and professional. The residents all seem very happy to be there. I was a visitor but this looks like a great place to have a family member live at. If you are looking for a retirement community, you should visit here. This is one of the nicest I have been to
#1 choice for grandparents. They have options for varying levels of care; the person I know is pretty independent & has lived here for years & loves it. Lots to do w/ frequent events, solid meals, & rides to church on Sundays! Hopefully it’ll be around for a while.
Fabulous Christian retirement community. My parents lived here for many years and the community Mom through all her dementia as well as my dad and his later years.
Great!! I go there for physical therapy and the staff is top notch! Cheers to Leila and Megan for their excellent service and care. I leave feeling like a new person. I'm grateful for their patience and watchful eyes and helping me improve my cognition and balance.
This is a wonderful multi-level of care retirement community. It originally provided a high quality of life for retired Baptist ministers, then broadened to those of other faith traditions, & still remains a strongly Christian community today. If you're looking for a friendly community, you'll find it here! I visit 2 friends who live here - each in different kinds of apartments - and both of them just LOVE living here! I've enjoyed the dinner selections & salad bar in the Dining Room, as well as sandwiches, & soup & salads from the small cafe. I know they have all kinds of weekly programs & activities, so you'd always have something new to learn. The location is great if you want easy access to downtown Alhambra. I only rate it 4 out of 5 stars because the entire "campus" is pretty much taken up with buildings and I'd prefer being surrounded by more park-like Nature when I retire. It's also surrounded by some busy streets so you're always going to hear sirens & traffic. (I suppose at some point, I might be able to remove my hearing aids & enjoy peace & quiet! But I'm not there yet!!)
