Valley Healthcare Center

This place is very much a psych and drug rehab facility. idk why they won’t advertise it as such instead of letting people think it’s a general medical rehabilitation facility with nice and stable patients… its far from that. I feel sorry for the people working there

This facility has gotten better. New management has really turned things around. Wonderful & clean workspace. Activities department is the best in Bakersfield. Residents are treated like family. Kitchen staff very helpful & always willing to accommodate patients food preferences. All nurses and Cnas have excellent patient care. Overall a positive friendly & safe facility for your loved one.

I have been going to Valley to visit my love one at least twice a week. With this review let me say that all the staff here and those that are now gone are truly appreciated. Working in a home takes a lot of patience and care. I did want to share though over the last month I have noticed a huge difference in the cleanliness of the facility thanks to the janitorial staff and the caring management staff and of course the nurses and the CNA ‘s. They all greet me with a smile and seem to be happy I’m there visiting my family. I know Valley has had some bad reviews but things are changing.

I delivered food here and, although I didn't catch her name, I feel the need to point out that the lady, who literally snatched the bag from my hand and brushed me off, was extremely rude, seemed like she did not care about the residents in the slightest and absolutely did not seem like she wanted to be there. Unfortunately, I had to go back a second time because the resident said they did not receive their food. Upon doing so, I was met with a snippy attitude, carelessness and, initially, utter confusion as to what I was talking about. Thankfully, they eventually found the resident's order and got it to her, but most likely it was cold by this time. I'm not an expert in the field of assisted living, but this place did not seem like a place a resident or their family would feel welcome or confident in the ability of staff to make their stay a pleasant one.

I thought that i could trust this place to take care of my uncle , but i was wrong they let him wait to long they were supposed to check his blood monthly to make sure his liver enzymes were normal they did not and he ended up in the hospital where he died I hate this place with a passion, they know they did not take care of him and i found out there have been many lawsuits there. I did not sue them as it would bring my uncle back .. But i had plenty to say to the Coodinator at the time . DONT TAKE LOVED ONES HERE THEY don’t do there job, also the place is filthy and the windows don’t shut properly it should be condemed and rebuilt!
