My mother was at Friendship Haven for 3 months for therapy. We had a wonderful experience. The therapists, nurses, aides and staff were dedicated, professional, and kind. The place was kept clean. Our only negative was the timing of the meals. It was inconsistent and usually late delivery of meals. Overall my mother received great care and I would highly recommend this nursing home.

My older brother has been here for about a year. The nurses and aids do a good job of caring for him. The head of nursing and assistant are responsive to my questions and calls. The facility has been steadily improved with painting and such over the last year. I can see the improvements. The food staff has been replaced and meals improved. The key to having a loved one in any facility is to visit often at different times. If you can pick one close to you.

I worked inside this building and I want to warn families and staff about what I personally saw while caring for residents. Staffing is often too low for safe care. I saw falls and close calls because CNAs were stretched too thin to keep up with needs. Infection control was weak and there was no proper way for staff to wash their hands in the dining room while passing trays. Some resident rooms had no privacy curtains and some doors didn’t close properly which takes away basic dignity and safety. Shower beds had side rails that would not secure which created dangerous situations during baths. I personally saw roaches in resident rooms. We ran so low on linen that pillowcases and blankets had to be used as substitutes. Kitchen alternatives were often not available and trays were left uncollected while diets were still being charted as completed. I love this profession and the residents deserve dignity safety and a clean environment every day. I also saw staff sleeping or hiding while others struggled to keep residents cared for. There is no actual HR person on site so concerns often went nowhere and favoritism played a big part in who got in trouble and who did not. I also personally witnessed CNA skill packets being filled out without proper skill observation which puts both residents and staff licenses at risk. Employees were told to fill the packets themselves and management will sign them later. These issues were ongoing while I was there and I hope management and ownership take things seriously before someone gets hurt again. Reply to my review. Apparently this is a continuing issue at most of your facilities. Your responce is always the same. From all reviews this has been going on for years. So please spare me the contact number and actually investigate and talk to your nursing staff. I highly recommend you start from the top, starting with this facility first.

My brother and aunt were transferred here 2 weeks ago from another facility. I have to say that right off the bat the level of care and the concern of the staff to the residents is leaps and bounds better than their previous facility. My brother is very pleased with the food also. My only gripe is the largest TV allowed is 32 inches which is a minimal gripe.

I wish I could rate this place a negative ZERO! This facility did not meet my expectations. After my mother's hospital stay, we admitted her here for three weeks. Regrettably, our arrival was met with a lack of front desk staff. We spent 10 minutes waiting in the hallway for assistance with her room assignment, but none was forthcoming. The nurses and staff seemed unoccupied. As a result, we opted to take her to a different location. I advise against bringing family members to this facility.
