On November 9, 2025 at 6am I went to SGVMC Emergency Room with severe abdominal pain. There was no waiting and I was taken immediately. The ENTIRE staff were caring and attended to my every need. During my stay one particular nurse was exceptional SONG LAM. He had a happy disposition, empathetic and frequently came into my room to make sure I was comfortable. This made me feel encouraged over my condition. After running many tests, I was given IV antibiotics and discharged quickly within 4 hours. I went home feeling happy and positive over such a good experience. SGVMC is an exceptional hospital. I always choose to go here over any other hospitals in the area. The entire staff works well with each other and you can tell they like working with each other. This is very important to me because I feel WELL taken care of! Thank you for an excellent experience!
I have been in and out of the hospital for the last four months. I had a wound that went septic across my abdomen. I’ve had A couple of stays in this hospital on two different floors, the third floor and the fourth floor. This hospital and it’s staff is amazing. The care I got was amazing. Their nurses are attentive come every time I called and brought me up every time I felt discouraged thank you guys for all your help and God bless you
It has been over a year since I had this experience at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, but I was deeply traumatized and realize it is best for me to share my story. I was admitted to that place with a fractured femur after falling in my home. I had successful surgery 2 days later. Dr. Tang was great. The next night around 9 I heard a lot of people talking and laughing very loudly. This went on and on, and I realized the staff was having a party! In my unit! From 9 p.m. on and on! Needless to say I couldn’t sleep! At 2 a.m. I couldn’t take any more. I called the police. The officer was very nice. They didn’t send anyone over, but they alerted hospital security , which came and, thankfully, broke up the party. Think that’s funny? I didn’t. Well into the party, a nurse had come in to draw some blood. Quite a few stabs later, I wondered if he’d been drinking. Another nurse was likewise. Black and blue was already spreading. I finally got to sleep. I advise everyone to avoid that hospital. I have never had an experience like that before. Never dealt with such unprofessional, careless and, yes, selfish, medical people. Did I file a complaint? No. I just wanted to be done with the place. Maybe security did. Maybe someone who matters will read this. Laura M.
My husband had a hip replacement yesterday at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the outstanding care he received. Dr. Benjamin Tam, who performed the surgery, is truly an excellent and caring physician. From the beginning, we felt confident and reassured knowing he was in charge. His professionalism, patience, and compassion made a world of difference during this process. We were also deeply impressed by the hospital staff. From the moment we arrived, Teresa at the front desk welcomed us warmly—she was a pleasure to speak with and set the tone for a positive experience. Nurse Melinchi Tana then assisted us with paperwork and IV preparation. Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine care for her patients immediately put us at ease. She made us feel like we were in the best hands. Thanks to Dr. Tam and the incredible team at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, we felt supported and comfortable throughout. It honestly felt like being cared for by family. Thank you all for the exceptional care!
First time to the E.R on Saturday night. I took my dad to this hospital, it was stressful with an medical emergency but the staff and the doctors were all very kind and helpful. They took good care of my dad, he was seen right away and was brought in into one of the room. They did blood test, EKG, CT scan and all sort of tests, my dad got better and he was released a few hours later. The facility is clean and well maintained, although it still has the look of the 90's but who cares, most importantly is that the wait is short and the staff were kind and helpful.
