As a nurse who has worked at this facility on and off for several years, I strongly advise families and healthcare workers to use extreme caution before placing a loved one here or seeking employment. Do not work here. Do NOT put someone you love here. During my time at this facility, I witnessed repeated decisions that, in my professional opinion, compromised patient safety and placed staff licenses at risk. When I advocated for essential emergency equipment, including an AED(which significantly increases survival rates during cardiac arrest BY AT LEAST 50%) was told by the Director of Nursing that the facility preferred not to allocate funds for it. Shortly afterward, I was dismissed. I also observed chronic understaffing, which created unsafe conditions for both patients and staff. Concerns brought forward by employees were often dismissed, and individuals who raised legitimate issues were frequently treated as problematic rather than heard. Additionally, I witnessed patterns of favoritism and a workplace culture that allowed inappropriate behavior to go unaddressed. There were staff members retained despite documented concerns involving unprofessional conduct, bullying, neglect, and, in some cases, racially insensitive or rough treatment of patients. These issues persisted even after being reported through proper channels. The facility’s Medicare rating, which is publicly listed as “much below average,” reflects many of the issues I observed firsthand. Patient care and staff well-being appear to be compromised by administrative decisions and a lack of accountability. My intention in sharing this review is to provide honest information based on my experiences, in hopes that it encourages improvements in safety, staffing, and overall patient care for the patients at this facility who will always remain in my heart and aspire me with their resilience.

My 90 year old husband was in the hospital for 8 days and could not come home until he was able to walk. I truly dreaded to have him in a rehabilitation center again, because the 2 previous experiences were absolutely horrible. I held my breath walking into Santa Fe Care Center, expecting to feel the now familiar vibes of despair. But no such thing. There was laughter and the residents in the rotunda seem to be content. Most of the caretakers were friendly and really caring. I want to thank especially Debbie, Mary, Diego and Nyla. They seemed to really enjoy and excel in their job. Yes there were some surly ones, and my husband complained about not getting much response in the night. But should the need (God forbid!) ever arise again, this is where I would want my loved one to be. Phil Gallegos

Lots of collaboration of staff. The activities staff do a great job of offering activities for the residents and including family. The therapy staff works very hard to get loved ones back home or to the least restrictive environment. Nurses are very caring and kind.

Santa Fe care center faculty was the best. They gave my mom the most loving care she received. Everyone was so nice and patient with her. Thank you all for the wonderful service. I truly recommend sfcc.

A worker has been talking a lot about what's happening in there, when i was visiting with a friend of mines family, and I overheard her talking/complaining on the phone with her boyfriend while not helping half of the elderly who need help, or rushing them all to bed without feeding them or getting them drinks and being very rude to them and rolling her eyes as they hungry and thirsty. Her name was Cateka. I would've fired her because of that and revoked her license for being that evil to someone's family member. I recommend finding another nurse home if she's still working there because I'm not having any of my business here at all because of her.
