I recently spent three weeks at Canyon,, and I was super-impressed with the care I received. The professional medical staff is competent and attentive to patient input, explaining decisions they make re. care. The aides are wonderful -- pleasant to even the most demanding patients and providing immediate response to requests. In the "gym", the physical and occupational therapists tailor their agendas to individual as well as group needs. The meals are extraordinary for institutional food, and the kitchen staff is responsive to individual requests when possible. Activities are popular to long- and short-term patients, since the activities personnel have a great sense of humor. The front office is capable and also attuned to individual needs. I found it a 5-star facility.

Very disappointed!! I have been dealing with an "administrator" or rather the person that helps get people in the facility. (I wont give his name at this time) This person I was told from the start was the one who I needed to talk to about moving my mom out of the Nightmare of a place, Fiesta Park. He was very nice at first and made me think he would help me. But Like every place else that requires some kind of customer service, I get no returned calls. I pressure the heck out of the director of Social Services of Fiesta Park to send over to Canyon the Clinical paperwork for my mom. Which she did. Then When I called "this person " to follow up he said he still needed more info from Fiesta Park. He said he couldn't reach the Director of Fiesta so he couldn't proceed. However, Because I am so desperate to get mom moved to a better place, i called her while I had him on the phone so he could ask for additional paperwork. (which was the discharge papers from Pres) While on the phone with both of them, the director told him she would send it over. after the call he said to allow till 10am the next day. I gave him till 11am before calling. I called, and called, and called! Left voicemails! for two days. Still no response. Why don't people in these types of positions not return calls?! Im sure IF I hear back, I'll be told "we are so busy" That's everyone's excuse. There has to be a tiny bit of time to call someone back to give an update. I am very disappointed and frustrated that I cant get anyone to help me get my mom out of a horrible place. BUT, if this is the type of attention I get then it makes me wonder how she will be treated if she did get in to Canyon Transitional. She might be ignored too. Or treated badly. I am simultaneously TRYING to work with two places, Canyon Transitional and Bear Canyon. I had Fiesta Park sending the same paperwork to both facilities and both places are ignoring my calls! Maybe places like these should spend a little more money on hiring more people to the staff so things can get done in a timely manner. And in a caring manner.

My recent experience (end of August, 2025) with Canyon Transitional Rehabilitation Center was extraordinary. I arrived there one late evening after an accident that left me with a head injury and an inability to walk. I was in pain, distraught and feeling totally helpless. My fears were soon relieved. I was welcomed, immediately cared for and comforted. Everyone was kind, professional and caring, The facility was old but immaculate and well maintained. I cannot thank and praise everyone there enough - from the skilled health workers, production staff, PT and OT, to the cooks and meal providers. They are all indeed "angels in disguise!" It was my good fortune to be in their care. Thank you, thank you Canyon Transitional for giving me my active life back!

Leaving a family member in the care of others is not easy. I want to thank the entire staff for their patience, compassion and the attention they gave to detail. I'm told the food was good too.! Thank you! Definitely recommend.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THIS LOCATION. HORRIBLE DOCTORS. HORRIBLE CNAS. HORRIBLE STAFF. All they do is give you pain medicine to keep you quiet. If it wasn't for the Doctors (at a different hospital) that made me an appointment I probably would have died there. Please please please report this Facility. I've been trying to get it done. Need more people to stand up and get those Doctors license revoked!!!! HORRIBLE place to heal or recover!
