When Kaiser first brought my wife here, we thought it was better than the place we had just been. It is in some ways but not so much in others. For example the food is uniformly crummy at both places; very little protein available usually in the form of a glass of milk. We didn’t realise until we got here that the rooms are set up for three beds per room not two. So far, physical and occupational therapy seem pretty good; the PT program is operating six days a week. Place is very clean and the staff is very accommodating.
The compassion and the love that each nurse shows to each patient is extraordinary to say the least And then administration as well is absolutely fantastic. 100% on top of every single situation always making sure that the best interest of the patient is at heart. is everything perfect. It could never be perfect when your loved one is in a facility and no longer in their home, but this facility is full of people who are compassionate and care about each patient they have I watch my dad have ups and downs, and I’m watching my dad become Comfortable in his environment. I absolutely 100% appreciate every single person who is helping my father to survive And I appreciate everybody that’s helping him not only to survive.
I encourage anyone reading these reviews to check with their personal and medical networks regarding this post-acute rehab in comparison with others. It has been three years, but I clearly recall that it was dirty, crowded, and chaotic; rehab appointments were frequently canceled; and I had to dispute the discharge of a loved one over a dangerously bungled and life-essential prescription. Perhaps it has had a remarkable turnaround warranting so many positive reviews, but my personal network says otherwise. Like I said... ask around.
They take good care of my mama when she is sick. Doctors are really good people. Sometimes the nighttime staff is hard to understand but it’s OK. We’re all just people doing our best.
My 80 year old brother was in Apple Valley for 2 weeks in May after a stroke that affected his strength, balance and speech. Apple Valley staff were excellent in their care of my brother and the physical, occupational and speech therapists that he saw almost daily were first class in bringing him back to where he could walk with a walker and speak much more clearly. Unfortunately the medication management was not at the same level. I had a very difficult time getting Apple Valley to correct a medication problem which could have been serious but for the confusion finally being resolved.
