My mom was in memory care at Forest Glen from January through September in 2024. The food was decent most of the time, room was spacious and comfortable. The regular staff were caring and kind. The housekeeping/laundry staff did an excellent job. Mickie, the activities lady was wonderful on the days she was scheduled. Unfortunately, on the days when she wasn't there, the residents were crammed into the common area to watch a crummy TV. The spaces aren't utilized well, and the furniture is worn and dirty. The biggest problems are lack of staff and bringing in staff from across the street who don't have any clue about caring for dementia patients. One person in a building at night with 28 residents is unsafe. They are more than ready to raise your rates without warning or explanations. If they actually had enough staff you could understand the costs. Most of the staff works hard but, complaints to administration are met with excuses and communication is a real problem. They say you will have actual care conferences. It never happens.
Great facility! They have been more than helpful in taking care of my grandparents. Great staff, clean facility. Truly blessed to have such a great place so close to home!
My husband is now living at Forest Glen and I have to say he is being well cared for. He loves the first shift staff and Nurse Pam is amazing. She relates so well with my husband and she can reach him on a personal level like no other. She is an asset we so love to have on our team. Thank you Forest Glen for hiring staff like her.
My Dad just left skilled nursing at FG, after 6 weeks. His care was definitely above average, but the relationships he made with the employees - from nursing to kitchen, were excellent! Staff is friendly, welcoming and responsive. They have lots of activities and I was very impressed that they took all patients- even bedbound - to their lovely courtyards to watch the Eclipse! I am so glad my Dad got that opportunity! Hope he doesn't go back, but he would feel almost at home if he did!
We are so appreciative of the fine staff at Forest Glen. Thank you so much for being so kind to my mom. We love them all! Special props to night nurse Jennifer for taking such good care of my mom's legs - she is stellar! We would like to give a special gold star to Jordan for going beyond the call of duty in shampooing my mom, bathing her, and doing everything with such extra care and kindness. Jordan is a true healthcare angel! We'd also like to thank nurse aide Lisa Hall for her wonderful work. Lisa noticed some sore areas and treated them with a protective cream, and has also gone above and beyond to be caring and helpful. All staff are wonderful. Bless you!
