We came in skeptical after a horrible experience elsewhere. Acknowledging the inherent challenges in nursing home care, my mom's three-week rehab stay here was generally positive: staff listened to her, adjusted meds, gave them on time; therapy improved independence and mobility; insurance was explained clearly. Nursing/social-services leads communicated with me proactively, the records person was fast, and staff generally respected her and my POA authority. It's not a flashy facility, but her experience was better than the public data suggested. If the same leadership (Jemal and Stephanie) were in place, I wouldn’t be worried about her returning in the future. Before you decide, call leadership, visit if you can, and ask direct questions about their Medicare ratings and what they’re doing to improve. Then stay involved—and pack earplugs.
I was a patient at the facility for about 2 months. Most of the staff doesn't care about what you need or what is going on with you. I had just gotten my very first ostomy bag. They ran out of the supplies I needed. I was holding a towel over the hole for 3 days. When I did leave I had an infection so bad I went right back to the hospital. Make sure all your clothing is marked. I had a couple hundred dollars worth of clothes disappear. And mine were marked.
Worst facility to place a loved one for rehab! My grandmother was there 2 weeks I thought she would get rehab but she didn’t! The facility over medicated her with muscle relaxers for a behaviour restraint since she would yell out for family! Yes she had pain but didn’t need all the medication they gave her and heart medication! This place has horrible therapy nurses don’t listen to family members who are poa and my grandmother was never charged I had to go in feed her morning and night to be safe and change her! She still got a bedsore from not being charged at night! Her roommate would tell me they would close the door at night since my grandmother cried for us. Biggest mistake of my life sending my loved one here! Also they won’t get bathed or showered they marked bed bath because I washed my grandma face and bottom with a wash cloth! Excuse me that’s not a bed bath or a shower! Save your love one from the disaster here! My grandmother declined drastically after this place and never recovered no therapy as needed over medicated!
I just took a tour of this place. The staff were extremely friendly, energetic, and caring. The facility was very clean and felt professional.
Patients do not get the care they need. I would not recommend this facility. If your loved one needs to go to skilled nursing for rehabilitation, I highly recommend a different facility.
