Placing a loved one in a facility is always a difficult decision. Both of my parents were residents of Sandalwood Skilled Nursing. From the moment I walked in the front door I felt welcomed and confident that they were in good hands. The environment is cheerful and well kept. The entire staff is professional, knowledgeable, friendly and caring.
After a hospital stay, my sweet Mom was (at the last minute), denied the ability to return to her assisted living facility (where she had resided for over 6 years), and we were left scrambling. After many phone calls and previewing quite a few (disappointing) LTC facilities in a 24 hour period, a family member recommended Sandalwood. I have to say, I was blown away by so many of the staff members. Mom only lived for a short time, but the staff worked hard to get to know her (and me), and her needs, quickly. Her room was clean and fresh, and we made it into a cozy environment very easily. There was always someone available to resource, and I never felt like I was a bother, even though our situation was quite desperate, and I was spending a lot of time there. Based on my/our experience, I would absolutely recommend this private, well-established LTC to anyone who has a cherished loved one.
I have worked closely with the team at The Rehabilitation Center at Sandalwood for almost 10 years as a hospice partner. This team is kind and compassionate and does a wonderful job in caring for rehabilitation and long term care residents. I would trust this team to care for my own family. My aunt was admitted to Sandalwood and has had a great experience being taken care of! My aunt was admitted for rehabilitation, and the therapy team was excellent. The facility is clean and well taken care of, and the front desk lady is super nice.
